Thai Typing
Motivation. I saw Josh Sager's Thai typing tutor game, but wanted to change the rules to follow more conventional learn-to-type programs. Instead of limiting the rules to consonants, vowels, tone marks, and so on, I limited according to the rows on the keyboard and also the use of the shift key.
Technology. HTML5/Canvas/jQuery. This project was a revisit to the STEM game challenge demo I wrote a couple of years ago which was heavily based on a tutorial. Armed with a better understanding of JavaScript as well as concepts from Sager's version, I produced this canvas-version of learning the Thai keyboard. I used closures for the parallax background animation as well as a simple game loop for the game logic. Original art was created for this project.
